The Concert for Bangladesh was the first benefit concert of its kind– bringing together an extraordinary group of major artists collaborating for a common humanitarian cause. The concert sold out Madison Square Garden and along with the Grammy ® Award-winning triple-album box set, and the feature film, has generated millions of dollars for UNICEF and raised awareness for the organization around the world.
An L.A. Premiere and NY Screening were held to celebrate the release of the Concert for Bangladesh DVD which chronicles this once in a lifetime concert event. UNICEF Ambassadors Alyssa Milano and Tea Leoni showed up to support the cause as well as music greats: Leon Russell, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, and Eric Mann all who later joined George Harrison’s son Dhani Harrison on stage for a performance of some of the classics played at the original concert. |
